Mr. HENRY ZHUANG HONGZHI (Partner)
Mr. Henry Zhuang Hongzhi is a founding partner of Henry Zhuang & Partners which was established in 1997. Mr. Zhuang graduated from Peking University in 1982 with a LL.B degree and he obtained an LL.M degree from Nagoya University of Japan in 1985. Mr. Zhuang was qualified as an Attorney at Law in China in 1988. During his practice over past decades, he has provided many multinational companies, banks and other types of companies, investors with very successful and highly acclaimed legal services..
In addition to his extensive work experience as a licensed practising lawyer in China, Mr. Zhuang has working experience in overseas law firms, including working as a partner and head of China practice group in David Chong & Co (Singapore), working as China legal consultant in Robert Lee & Fong (Hong Kong), McMillan Binch (Toronto, Canada) and Matsuo & Kosugi (Tokyo).
Besides, Mr. Zhuang has worked as an official in China's State Council Office for Special Economic Zones and State Council Office for Leading Group of Foreign Investment Affairs. He has also served as head of legal department in a China's large state-owned enterprise.
Mr. Zhuang is very experienced in the areas of corporate and commercial, merger and acquisition, banking and finance, foreign investment, property and conveyancing, international trade, litigation and arbitration, etc. Mr. Zhuang's working languages include Mandarin, English and Japanese.
Mr. Zhuang has written in Chinese, English and Japanese numerous scholarly works which were published in Chinese and foreign law journals and newspapers. He is also often invited to speak at forums and universities on Chinese law. He has served as a visiting research fellow at Peking University and other part time social and community jobs.
Mr. ZHU ZHIMING (Partner)
Mr. Zhu Zhiming is a founding partner of Henry Zhuang & Partners. Mr. Zhu was graduated in 1987 from Fudan University where he completed his post-graduate study in the master course of law. Thereafter he worked as a lecturer at East China University of Law and Politics while, at the same time, heading the Research Centre of Foreign Economic Laws for the university.
Mr. Zhu was qualified as an Attorney at Law in China In 1990. He began his practice at the Shanghai No. 4 Law Firm. From 1993 to 1994, Mr. Zhu worked in charge of examination and approval of foreign investment projects for the Administrative Committee of Shanghai Wai Gao Qiao Free Trade Zone. From 1995 to 1997, he worked as a foreign legal advisor in Chinese law for a Singapore law firm. In October 1997, he became one of the founding partners of Henry Zhuang & Partners.
Throughout his career, Mr. Zhu has focused on the areas of FDI, corporate laws, mergers, and acquisitions, banking and finance, real estate, corporate listing, employment, litigation, and arbitration, amongst others. Mr. Zhou provides legal advice in both Mandarin and English.
Mr. Zhu has published more than 30 professional articles in Chinese and foreign law journals and newspapers, and more than 10 scholarly books such as "General Discussions on Foreign Economic Law". Besides, he was also often invited as a speaker in Chinese laws to give speeches by many forums, universities and chambers of commerce.
In addition to his legal expertise, Mr. Zhu received a qualification of independent director by the Shanghai Stock Exchange of China and is now an independent director of Lang Fang D&G Machinery Technology Shareholding Ltd., Co. etc..
